Dear Colleague:

The Committee on Rules will begin consideration of H.R. 3354, the Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act, 2018 on Tuesday, September 5th.  Due to the size and interest in this measure, I expect the Committee will report multiple rules to complete its consideration. Amendment testimony for each division will occur on the following days:

Tuesday:

  • Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies
  • Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs
  • Department of Homeland Security
  • Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies

Wednesday:

  • Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies
  • Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies
  • Financial Services and General Government
  • Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies

If you plan to testify before the Committee, please plan to attend on the designated day.  Testimony will only be taken on the specified bills on the specified days. If you wish to testify on amendments to multiple divisions, you may need to appear at multiple hearings. If you are unable to be present, written testimony may be placed into the Committee Record. Any written testimony should be received prior to the start of the respective hearing.

Meeting times will be posted on our website.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or the committee staff at 5-9191.

Sincerely,

Pete Sessions
