Congressman James P. McGovern (D-MA), incoming chairman of the House Committee on Rules, today congratulated Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK) on being named ranking member of the committee for the 116th Congress.
The Republican Majority today once again refused to allow a debate on reopening the government as the Trump Shutdown continues. On the House Floor this afternoon, the Majority refused to consent to Rules Committee Ranking Member James P. McGovern’s (D-MA) attempt to bring up H.R. 7397, a bill to end the shutdown and fund the government through February 8th. McGovern also tried to bring up this bill on Saturday but was blocked by Republicans from doing so.
